Gopal Pandurangan holds a Moores professorship in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston. He has held faculty positions at Purdue University and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, as well as visiting positions at the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras, Brown University, and Rutgers University. His research interests include theory and algorithms for distributed computing, networks, large-scale data, machine learning, data science, and quantum computing. He has over 150 refereed publications in the above areas, including premier conferences such as FOCS, STOC, SODA, PODC, SPAA, DISC, INFOCOM, and RECOMB, as well as premier journals such as JACM, SICOMP, and TALG. His research has been continuously supported by research grants from various funding agencies, including the US National Science Foundation, the US Department of Defense, the Singapore Ministry of Education, and the US-Israel Binational Science Foundation. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a recipient of the University of Houston Research Excellence Award.
