Cars have become increasingly safer with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems such as Adaptive Cruise control, Traffic Jam Assist, Blind Spot detection have been introduced. Research into autonomous cars has progressed remarkably since the DARPA challenge in early 2000. But, is the self-driving technology really solved? In this session, an introduction to self-driving technology and the impending challenges will be provided.

Bio:

Prashanth Viswanath completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering in 2009 from University of Houston. He has been working with the automotive group at Texas Instruments since 2009 as system and algorithm engineer. He has vast experience working with various automakers to deploy driver assistance system functionalities. He has 4 granted patents with USPTO and has published several conference papers.
