When: Wednesday, March 9, 2016
Where: PGH 563
Time: 5:30 PM

Speaker: Alexandros Tzoumas, SciFY PNPC Technical Manager (www.scify.org)

Host: Prof. Ioannis Kakadiaris

The presentation will describe the vision and implementation of sharing research results with the world, as open source, freely available products, accessible to all. We will discuss about the value of open science, the impact and sustainability of opening scientific results, as well as the added value for academics, students and the industry. All the above will be supported by the experience gained, both by researchers and developers working within SciFY, a private Not-for-profit IT company, in the challenging setting of
South-East Europe during the last 4 years.

The presentation will lead to a set of proposed steps for collaboration and applied innovation, aimed at improving everyday life around the globe.
