Center For Urban Transformation

The center for urban transformation’s goal is to assess and resolve issues that could hinder academic success/social growth for students, in a timely and culturally sensitive manner. The communities that they serve experience various issues that may hinder scholars from achieving their academic best. These problems include, but are not limited to basic clothing needs, food insecurity, physical and mental health, lack of stable housing, and many other psychological and domestic concerns. Often, these challenges negatively influence students and their ability to immerse themselves in a learning environment efficiently.

American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge Facility Volunteer Event

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides a free lodging facility to patients undergoing cancer treatment and their caregivers. Each Hope Lodge facility provides a supportive environment where guests can share a meal, join in on evening activities, or unwind in their own private rooms. Patients staying at Hope Lodge are actively receiving treatment and permanently reside more than 40 miles away from their cancer treatment center. Volunteers for this event will be assisting patients in painting!
