MOW Birthday Bags
Meals on Wheels is an organization committed to delivering meals to homebound seniors. Some of the seniors served will not receive any gifts or cards on their birthdays. Volunteers for this event will help assemble birthday bags and make birthday cards. Volunteers will create a birthday card to go into the decorated birthday bags and pack in a few birthday goods

MD Anderson Children’s Center
MD Anderson is the largest center in the US that helps individuals with cancers. They also support children across various ages with cancer treatment and recovery. We will be facilitating arts and crafts activities for children who are currently receiving treatment or recovering.

Cranes for a Cure
Cranes for A Cure is inspired by Joey’s love of origami. Cranes for A Cure’s mission is to fund pediatric cancer research by selling origami crane strings and mobiles, and to provide origami cranes to pediatric cancer patients. Come to the MVP Office to fold cranes for donation!

Cougar Cupboard
The University of Houston opened Cougar Cupboard in partnership with the Houston Food Bank’s Food for Change market network. The cupboard is available to all enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who may need access to additional food.

Memorial Park Conservancy Volunteering
The Memorial Park Conservancy Volunteering is an event aimed at maintaining one of Houston’s most iconic and popular parks. The garden has a wide variety of flora and flowers and even has a community garden to grow produce for the Houston Community. We will be aiding the care of the park’s Native Plant Nursery, which may include anything from gardening to cleaning trash!

Houston Food Bank
The Houston Food Bank is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger relief charities. As volunteers, most of the tasks in the warehouse consist of checking, sorting, and repackaging food to be distributed to the community

Houston Food Not Bombs
Houston Food Not Bombs is an organization committed to feeding the homeless filling and nutritious food. They are dedicated to making sure that nobody goes hungry and the organization spans over 1,000 cities across the world. HFNB has proudly served 150,000+ healthy vegetarian meals since 1994 and continues to go strong. As volunteers, we will be helping with the prepping and distribution of the food as well as any clean-up after.

National Night Out at the Health Museum
The Health Museum is hosting the 40th Annual Houston National Night Out this upcoming October 3! Join MVP in helping run the program by acting as greeters, delivering supplies between tables and supporting guest services in the gift shop from 5:30 - 8:30!

Nora’s Home: Family Night
Nora’s Home offers solid organ transplant patients and their families an affordable place to stay in the Texas Medical Center (TMC) where they can find support and share experiences with others, in the comfort of a home-like environment. Join MVP on October 4 to sponsor a BINGO night for the guests as well as play other board games!
