Gregory-Lincoln Education Center Garden Volunteering
Saturday, April 15, 2023
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Gregory-Lincoln Education Center Garden provides a fresh approach to healthy living through urban gardening. Moreover, the garden serves a place to educate local students on healthy eating and to raise advocacy regarding the food issues that affect millions of Americans. Their mission is to close the gap on food inequities and achieve a community culture of health and well-being.
We will be doing general garden maintenance such as planting, harvesting, and weeding which requires closed toed shoes. It might also be hot outside so make sure to bring a cap or a bottle of water to stay hydrated, especially in this Houston weather. Also seeing as how the location is near many schools, more information regarding parking will be set closer to the event’s date.
Volunteers will meet at SC South at 8:30 AM and depart at 8:45 AM and arrive at the event site at 9:00 AM , and volunteer until 12:00 PM. Please indicate on the sign up form if you can provide carpool- we always need volunteer drivers! After the event, volunteers will return to campus and be back by 12:15 PM.
Please register by 04/14/23 by 11:59PM. To register, complete the Google Form and we will contact you with more information about the event.
