A Desk Assistant (DA) is a student staff member who works the 24-hour information desk in the residence halls. General work responsibilities include facilitating the guest check-in/check-out policy, answering the phone and other customer service duties by building relationships, promoting engagement and leading with an ethic of care.

DA staff are located in all of the residence halls including: Cougar Village I, Cougar Village II, Cougar Place, The Quadrangle, Moody Towers, Bayou Oaks, and University Lofts and the main Housing Office located in Cougar Village II.
