Variety Shows

Variety Shows are one of the oldest traditions held at Frontier Fiesta. Every year Registered Student Organizations create short productions based on Broadway and big-screen hits and compete against one another for the Joel Koppel Award. Each show should be unique and original. Due to reduced space and in an effort to make Variety Shows more accessible to more organizations, there will no longer be individual fronts for Variety Show teams. This year, Variety Shows will take place in Willie Burn's Saloon. Teams will be given a 4'x 8' mural to decorate. These will serve as movie-style posters to reflect and advertise your show. Murals are based on the theme of the organization's production. All murals are entered to win the Best Mural Award. This year's Variety Show theme is "Old Hollywood." Step into the glitz and glamour of “Old Hollywood", where the performances transport you to the golden age of cinema! Allow yourself to be immersed in the timeless allure of vintage Hollywood, where the scenes are set with drama, romance, and the pursuit of stardom. With dialogue dripping in nostalgia and a stage adorned with glitter, characters navigate the love, betrayal, and ambition, mirroring the timeless struggles that defined the iconic era. “Old Hollywood” invites the audience to witness the allure of an era where glamour clashed with harsh realities.
