After thoughtful consideration by the University of Houston executive leadership, we regret to inform you that Frontier Fiesta 2020 will be canceled due to the COVID-19 and emergency health declaration in the City of Houston. Frontier Fiesta boasts a "world class cook-off" where 40+ cook-off teams compete in six different food categories: Chef’s Choice, Chili, Fajitas, Chicken, Pork Spare Ribs, and Beef Brisket. Also, Bake-Fiesta is contest where teams compete in four categories: Cakes and Cupcakes, Pies, Cookies, and Specialty Desserts. A cash prize is awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the brisket category with cash prizes for 1st place in all other categories.
Head Cook’s Meeting
- Date: Wednesday, February 5th, 2020
This meeting will provide returning and new teams an overview of the event, review policies and expectations on-site, and provide competition guidelines.
Directions to the Student Center. Please park in the Welcome Center garage across the street.
If you have participated in Frontier Fiesta, you have the ability to request sites prior to the Head Cook’s meeting. To do so, please email me back (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your confirmation with your team name and how many sites you would like (maximum of 4, 30x30 spaces). If I do not hear from you by February 3, your previous number of spots will be added to the general pool. At Head Cook’s Meeting, those who have responded can select on a first come first serve basis of available sites.
If you have not participated in Frontier Fiesta before (welcome!), you can select on a first come first serve basis of available sites after returners at Head Cook’s Meeting.
