The Frontier Fiesta Association is a student-led, student-run, annual three-day event located at the University of Houston. Founded in 1939, Frontier Fiesta is one of the most beloved events on campus that thousands of UH students look forward to and celebrated by UH Alumni. Attracting approximately 22,000 persons annually, Frontier Fiesta is the place for Variety Shows, Cook-Offs, Concerts, Performances, Amusement rides, Food, and more!
First created in 1939, our beloved festival was put to a stop at the beginning of World War Two. Thereafter, UH gained the event back on average 20,000 persons in the years 1947-1959 and deemed LIFE magazines "Greatest College Show on Earth" in 1958. Though 1959 was another year brought to a stop, eventually, talks of revival began in 1991. The following year, 1992, Frontier Fiesta was brought to life again on campus for students and alumni alike. Complete with a petting zoo and wagon rides, Frontier Fiesta brought those of all ages across the Houston area to be enjoyed. Though this beloved festival as moved locations throughout campus, it is the love and passion that students, faculty, and alumni bring together every year to ensure that each year is better than the last.
Frontier Fiesta is a free to low-cost event. It is free to enter, and then subject to pricing with our currency, "Frontier Fiesta Bucks" to be able to participate in select activities and food vendors.
Yes! Everyone is invited, however, Non-UH students are subject to the low-cost pricing once inside of the event.
