Training and education are primary means of achieving a safe and healthy working environment. EHS offers a wide variety of safety training courses, both instructor-facilitated and self-paced web-based. EHS provides a variety of instructor-led safety courses year-round. Courses in high demand are scheduled monthly and certain courses are available upon request. The course schedule provides information on upcoming instructor-led scheduled courses, and pre-registration is required to attend. Review the EHS Course Schedule for upcoming instructor-led scheduled courses and how to register. Please register ahead of time as course registration closes 3 business days ahead of the start date to facilitate distribution of course materials and sign-in information. University of Houston employees are required to take one or more safety training courses depending on the type of work they perform. The EHS Safety Training Curriculum provides guidance for supervisors and their workers to identify common employee training requirements and recommended courses. However, the guide is not fully exhaustive; the supervisor must identify other training needs that is required to assist employees perform their job safely.  Review the EHS Safety Training Curriculum to determine specific safety training needs.
