Dr. Melvin González-Rivera is an assistant professor of Spanish linguistics in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of Houston. Dr. González-Rivera holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic linguistics from The Ohio State University. He specializes in syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and their interface in grammar, with an emphasis on Caribbean Spanish. He has also authored and co-edited of several books and articles on topics related to language, semantics and philosophy.
