CIS 2332: Information Technology Hardware and Systems Software
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 1301. A conceptual and technological survey of the structure of distributed information systems architectures, operating systems, network operating systems, data management systems, application development environments, peripheral technology, and user interfaces.

CIS 2334: Information Systems Applications
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 1301 or ELET 2300 or equivalent. Concepts and production skills relating to information systems technologies, procedures, and resources.

CIS 2336: Internet Application Development
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ELET 2300 or equivalent and credit for or concurrent enrollment in MATH 1431. Internet and World Wide Web technologies. Development and maintenance of Web sites and Web applications.

CIS 2337: Fundamentals of Information Security
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 1301 or equivalent, or consent of department chair. Information security, including technical security issues, people security issues, policy issues, privacy, and ethics.

CIS 2338: Technology in the Community (formerly ITEC 2338)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: CIS 2334 and credit for or concurrent enrollment in CIS 2336 or at least 6 hours in major for non-Computer Information Systems majors. Introduction to project management in technology-intensive workplaces.

CIS 2348: Information Systems Application Development
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ELET 2300 or equivalent and credit for or concurrent enrollment in MATH 1431. Development of information systems applications using modern application development technologies.

CIS 3337: Secure Application Design
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: CIS 2337, 2348, and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Designing applications using a secure design life cycle process, including common causes of errors and current tools to improve code.

CIS 3343: Information Systems Analysis and Design
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: CIS 2334 and credit for or concurrent enrollment in TMTH 3360. Development and evaluation of information systems with relation to efficiency and cost. Case study approach.

CIS 3347: Information Systems Infrastructure and Networks
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: CIS 2332, credit for or concurrent enrollment in TMTH 3360, and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Data communications standards, protocols, models, architectures, internet topics, and ethics. Components of industry infrastructure with business justification. CIS 3348: Applications of Expert Systems (formerly ITEC 3348)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: credit for or concurrent enrollment in CIS 3347. Expert systems concepts, characteristics, applications, and tools.

CIS 3351: Intrusion Detection and Incident Response
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: CIS 2337 and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Intrusion detection and incident response for enterprise level computer systems, including technical, policy, and legal issues.

CIS 3355: Integrated Information Systems (formerly ITEC 3355)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: CIS 2336, 2348, 3347, and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or consent of program coordinator. Evaluation of integrated information systems.

CIS 3358: Information Media for Organizations
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: CIS 2332 or 2334 or 2337. Use of Web-based tools and technologies for information sharing and management within and across organizations.

CIS 3365: Database Management
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: CIS 3343. Applications of hierarchical and relational database systems.

CIS 3368: Advanced Internet Application Development (formerly ITEC 3368)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: credit for or concurrent enrollment in CIS 3365. Use of Web development tools for Web site development. Architectural planning, technology selection, and Web site programming tasks. Internet applications using COM components on both the client and server.

CIS 3399: Senior Honors Thesis (formerly ITEC 3399)
