Summer Abroad

Chinese and French

The summer program in Chinese is academically rigorous and culturally enriching. It offers intensive course work and extensive travel on weekends.   Students may take up to three courses (nine credit hours) toward the Chinese minor or Chinese Studies major in approximately five weeks while in Beijing. The program offers language courses at all levels and culture/literature courses taught in English. All courses have the same curriculum as the courses offered on the UH campus.

A summer program of study in France allows qualified students to earn residence credit in French at various undergraduate levels. The program is directed by a full-time faculty member of the department. A minimum of one year of college French, or equivalent, is required. Contact the department for more information.

In addition, the department encourages students interested in studying abroad during the regular academic year to consult with the department's undergraduate advisor.
