I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification

Every new hire at UH is required to complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form with Human Resources.  Section 1 of Form I-9 must be completed by the new hire by the first day of employment.

Existing workers on temporary visa/status are required to update Form I-9 with Human Resources  when their work authorization has been updated, renewed or changed.

Note for workers in J-1 and F-1 status: Individuals on F-1 and J-1 visas working on-campus are responsible to present updated I-20 or DS-2019 forms to Human Resources. Communication between HR and ISSSO is not automatic.

View the list of acceptable documents for I-9 completion. Note that each document must be un-expired and original.
