COMPASS Sexual Misconduct Response Training

Previously known as Code Red Assist, COMPASS is a half day program offered by the WGRC’s Sexual Misconduct Support Services (SMSS) staff of the Women and Gender Resource Center. In partnership with Equal Opportunity Services, this training is designed to equip campus mandatory reporters with skills and knowledge to respond to disclosures of sexual misconduct in a compassionate and compliant way.

COMPASS Training covers:

  • Definitions of sexual misconduct
  • Common reactions to trauma and how individuals commonly cope
  • Why individuals might feel afraid to report
  • The UHS Sexual Misconduct Policy and Title IX
  • SB212 and Required Reporting
  • When and how to Report
  • How to compassionately respond to disclosures of sexual misconduct
  • Campus resources to refer to, including Sexual Misconduct Support Services
  • Community and national resources

Upon successful completion of the training, participants become COMPASS Navigators and receive a special placard to place on their office doors or work areas.

Training is free and light refreshments are provided.
