UH's Integrated Compliance Oversight Network (ICON) is being updated this week. The system will be offline Thursday, November 4 at 10 p.m. through Sunday, November 7.

Affected modules include:

• Institutional Review Board (IRB)
• Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
• Conflict of Interest in Research (rCOI)

ICON will be unavailable for one full business day (Friday, November 5). We apologize for this inconvenience; please plan your submissions accordingly.

What changes will I notice?

The upgrade will increase efficiency and streamline regulatory compliance for submissions. When you log in, you will notice a simplified navigation and improved user interface across the site.

There are some user-facing changes unique to reliance agreements within the IRB module, including:

• Important changes to IRB policies and operational processes
• Revised Investigator/Faculty Sponsor manuals
• Updated consent form and protocol templates

These changes, and other IRB-specific updates, will be emailed to human subjects research teams following the upgrade.
