Hanadi Rifai is Moores Professor of Environmental Engineering at UH. She directs the Hurricane Resilience Research Institute (HuRRI). Her recent research activities have focused on the cascading impacts of severe events and natural hazards on infrastructure, ecosystems, and human health. Her laboratory is focused on field monitoring and simulation modeling of the fate and transport of pollutants in the environment including pathogens, dioxin, polychlorinated biphenyls, and PFAS.
Research Areas
Environmental quality / modeling pollutants in the environment / municipal and industrial pollutants / geospatial modeling / natural hazards and their cascading impacts on ecosystem and human health
