Terms of Use - UHPD Virtual Safety Walk
When a User clicks on "I agree" every 24 hours to begin a virtual safety walk they are agreeing to the following Terms of Use:
UH Go (referred to as "app") and UHPD Virtual Safety Walk (referred to as "feature")
- The University does not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or reliability of geolocation tracking, notifications, or monitoring services related to the app and/or the feature.
- The app and/or the feature does not replace standard emergency services (e.g., 911) or professional security measures.
- The University is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from or relating to the use or inability to use the app and/or the feature.
- The University does not in any way or manner assume responsibility for delayed, failed, or inaccurate tracking data or for any harm arising from or relating to reliance on the feature.
- User is solely responsible for their personal safety and must take appropriate precautions beyond using the app and/or the feature
- By using the features, the User must enable location services on your device and ensure they remain active while using the feature.
- By using the app and the feature, the user expressly acknowledges that network coverage, device settings, and third-party service disruptions may impact functionality.
- User expressly agrees to use the app responsibly and not for unauthorized, fraudulent, or unlawful purposes.
- User expressly agrees and understands that the app is not a substitute for calling emergency services or law enforcement.
- The University expressly reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the features at any time without notice.
- The app and this feature should not be used as the primary or sole method of determining that someone may be in need of police or security service assistance.
- User expressly agrees that continued use of the feature after any changes and/or revisions to these Terms of Use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms of Use.
