To apply to the Pharm.D. program for Fall 2022 admission, complete BOTH the PharmCAS application AND the UHCOP Supplemental Application.

1. PharmCAS Application
The University of Houston College of Pharmacy participates in the Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS), a national centralized application service that offers the convenience of one general application for multiple doctor of pharmacy degree programs. UHCOP is no longer participating in Early Decision through PharmCAS. We have implemented a Priority Admission process instead.
About Priority Admission
If you would like to be offered admission by November 5th, and we encourage you to take advantage of Priority Admission.
In addition to completing the PharmCAS application, you must arrange for PharmCAS to receive all your official transcripts and fee by October 1.
Other required items such as letters of reference and volunteer service should be provided without delay. If these items are received after October 1st, consideration for Priority Admission is still possible IF received in time for committee review AND before slots for Priority Admission interview days are full.
If your application, transcripts, or fee arrive after the deadline, you will still be considered for admission to UHCOP, and may be interviewed after the October interview days.
Applicants may apply to multiple schools while being considered for Priority Admission.
2. Supplemental Application
The UH College of Pharmacy requires a Supplemental Application and a Supplemental Application fee ($100) to be submitted online to the UH College of Pharmacy. Here is the link to the supplemental application: https://uh.edu/pharmacy-supplemental/
UHCOP Priority Decision and Regular applicants are to:
- Submit their PharmCAS application to PharmCAS without delay.
- Complete and submit the online UHCOP Supplemental Application electronically without delay.
- Provide the supplemental application fee ($100) and all applicable Supplemental Application materials directly to the UH College of Pharmacy by posted deadlines.
The UH College of Pharmacy cannot access an applicant's PharmCAS record until the PharmCAS processing team has verified the applicant's information (i.e. PharmCAS application, college transcript[s], processed PharmCAS fee, etc.).
Applicants are encouraged to apply early, once all required materials are received PharmCAS processing may take up to five weeks.
The UHCOP Supplemental Application consists of:
- $100.00 nonrefundable Supplemental Application Fee (credit or debit)
- Request for International Transcript Evaluation Process (if applicable)
- Residency Questionnaire (documentation may be required if requesting in-state 'Texas' residency)
- Important Disclosures
- Technical Standards
- Certification Page
Mailing items directly to UHCOP
The following items are to be mailed directly to UHCOP to be included with the applicant's record:
- Official U.S. high school transcript to verify completion of one year of high school physics (ONLY if requesting College Physics exemption)
- Credit by Examination Documentation (if applicable)
Official, sealed AP/CLEP/IB Student Score Reports from College Board, www.collegeboard.com or an official transcript in a sealed envelope from your college/university indicating earned college credit (i.e. AP scores, CLEP exams, etc). Specific course names and course numbers awarded must be clearly indicated on the transcript for credit to be recognized. (Note: Transcripts sent to PharmCAS may already have college credit listed.) - Official, sealed international transcripts (ONLY if requesting International Coursework Evaluation)
If possible, include the PharmCAS ID with any items mailed to UHCOP.
Applications missing any required items by the May 2, 2022, deadline will be considered INCOMPLETE and denied automatically, without review by the admissions committee.
3. Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) (NOT REQUIRED FOR FALL 2022 APPLICANTS)
The Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) is NOT required for the fall 2022 application.
Due to students facing continued difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Houston College of Pharmacy has temporarily suspended the PCAT requirement for the 2022 admission cycle. The PCAT test will be optional for applications submitted for the 2022 cycle.
Preliminary PCAT Scores
We will accept the Preliminary PCAT Score Report so long as it is uploaded within your PharmCAS application shortly after completing the PCAT exam.
Instructions for uploading Preliminary PCAT Score Report to PharmCAS:
- Scan the Student Score Report (It must be easily readable and cannot be any larger than 5MB in size)
- Access your PharmCAS account and upload the PCAT Score Report in the Program Materials section for the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, in the Documents tab
- Review the PharmCAS application instructions in order to properly upload documents to your PharmCAS account
Select PharmCAS Code 104 to report PCAT scores directly to PharmCAS.
4. Interview Days 2021-20222022 Cycle Interview Dates have not yet been set.
Applicants selected for interviews will receive their invitations via email.
Interviews may be in person or online through Zoom (applicants will be notified of their specific interview time and date via email). More information will be available in the coming weeks.
5. Seat Deposit
Applicants who receive official notice of his/her conditional acceptance into the Pharm.D. program must submit a nonrefundable $400.00 seat deposit. A portion of the deposit will be applied to the student's tuition and fees.
