General Questions


Who can submit a nomination?

Any UH faculty or staff member may submit nominations.

 

Can I nominate myself?

No. Self-nominations are not accepted.


Who can be nominated?

Eligible nominees must meet the published eligibility requirements and be benefits-eligible, regular full-time staff employees.

 

Can an employee be nominated in more than one category?

No. Nominees should be entered under the category that best aligns with their primary accomplishments.

 


What is required for a complete nomination?

  • One Nomination Form
  • Award narrative
  • Impact examples
  • Three Recommendation Forms



How many recommendations are required?

Three.

 

Can recommendation letters be submitted?

No. Only official Recommendation Forms are accepted.

 

What happens if a nomination is incomplete?

Incomplete nominations will not be reviewed.

 


Selection Process


Who reviews nominations?

The Staff Awards Selection Committee reviews nominations. The committee is appointed by Human Resources in consultation with the Office of Protocol and Special Events.

 

Are committee discussions confidential?

Yes. All committee deliberations, discussions, and scoring are confidential.

 


Awards & Recognition


What do recipients receive?

Recipients may receive official University recognition, an award or plaque, a President-signed certificate, a monetary award, and recognition during the awards ceremony and through University communications.

 

When are award recipients recognized?

During the President's Excellence Awards ceremony.
