Joel Abrha, Senior, Computer Information Systems, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc
My name is Joel Abrha, and I am a senior majoring in Computer Information Systems at the University of Houston. I am actively involved on campus through Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Collegiate 100, NSBE, NAACP, Students of East Africa, and Student Housing and Residential Life. I am passionate about leadership, mentorship, and building community, and I live each day with the mindset of getting 1% better. In my free time, I enjoy working out, spending time with friends, and creating meaningful connections with those around me.
KaMaurion Crawford, Senior, Advertising, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc
KaMaurion "Kammo" Crawford is a senior at the University of Houston, majoring in Advertising with a minor in Technology Innovation. He currently serves as Immediate Past President of the Eta Mu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and is actively involved in AAF-UH, where he has competed in national campaigns and student conferences. KaMaurion is passionate about creative strategy, brand development, and building inclusive communities both on and off campus. Outside of academics, he enjoys fashion, streaming, and extreme sports, which inspire the unique energy he brings to everything he does at UH.
Ricardo Villareal, Senior, Biomedical Engineering, Sigma Lambda Beta
Ricardo Villarreal is a senior Biomedical Engineering student with a minor in Entrepreneurship. He served as a 2023 Student Orientation Leader for the University's Orientation Team and has been a Peer Assistant for the Cullen College of Engineering since 2024. Ricardo also participated in a faculty-led study abroad program to South Africa, expanding his global perspective and commitment to service. Currently, he is the President of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Incorporated, where he leads with pride in brotherhood, culture, and community. With Cougar spirit at the core of his journey, he celebrates the diversity and unity that make the university extraordinary.
Zah Rafidi, Senior, Technology Leadership and Innovation Management
Zahi Rafidi is a senior majoring in Technology Leadership and Innovation Management at the University of Houston. He currently serves as a Community Mentor at Moody Towers South and is an active student staff leader. He is also Vice President of the student organization TILT (Technology Innovators & Leaders of Tomorrow) and an active member with CoogTV.. Passionate about leadership, innovation, and community building, he enjoys storytelling, cultural fusion, and turning ideas into impact.
Ka'Charo Cook II, Senior, Exercise Science (HHP), Black Student Union
Hi, my name is Ka'Charo Cook II, and I am a senior at The University of Houston, majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Biology. I enjoy being involved in my community and especially my campus. The organizations that I am a part of are The Omega Theta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Black Student Union at U.H., National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Coog Radio. Some of the activities that interest me are watching movies/sporting events, hanging out with my friends, and walking. I'm always excited to meet new people and have a great laugh!

Mia Ensley, Junior, Psychology, Association of Black Psychologists
Mia Ensley is a junior in the honors college at the University of Houston, majoring in Psychology with a minor in African American studies. As a Psychology major, Mia is passionate about a future in research, leading to her involvement in the Cougar Pride Lab as a research assistant and becoming the vice president for the Association of Black Psychologists. Mia's research interests focus specifically on addressing mental health disparities faced by Black Americans, including issues of misdiagnosis and inadequate mental health support within marginalized communities. Drawing from her personal experience with bipolar disorder, she understands firsthand the impact of systemic barriers and healthcare inequities on mental health outcomes. Mia's ultimate goal is to obtain her PhD in Clinical Psychology and contribute to research that improves understanding and support for diverse populations' psychological experiences, while advancing early identification and intervention strategies for marginalized communities. As a first-generation college student, Mia has experienced the highs and lows that come with pursuing an undergraduate degree. With her position as event coordinator for the First Gen Committee, it is Mia's mission to aid every student in feeling comfortable and confident in their collegiate career.
Sy'Nai Sledge, Senior, Teaching and Learning, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc
Sy'Nai Sledge is a Teaching and Learning major at the University of Houston with a passion for education and student success. She has been actively involved on campus through Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., C100, serving as a Resident Advisor, and as a member of the Orientation Team. Sy'Nai is also honored to be one of the faces for the College of Education, representing her dedication to future generations of learners. She loves trying new things, building connections, and creating positive experiences for those around her.
Olivia Dickens, Senior, Anthropology, Catholic Student Organization
Olivia Dickens, currently a senior at the University of Houston, is pursuing a degree in Anthropology and Biology, with the goal of a career in Forensic Anthropology. She grew to love UH while working at the University Special Collections, where she learned of the University's storied history and impact on the City of Houston. In addition to her scholarly pursuits, Olivia serves as a board member for Frontier Fiesta and The Cougar Forensic Science Society, is a student leader within the Catholic Student Organization, and is a dedicated member of UH Ambassadors. This semester, she will be interning with both the Houston Forensic Science Center and the San Antonio Naval Medical Research Unit, and is excited to support the efforts of Houston's largest crime lab and the Department of Defense. In her leisure time, she enjoys practicing embroidery, spending time with friends and family, watching TV, and attending numerous UH events!
Teshiria Spelmon, Senior, BFA Acting, Coog TV
Hi, my name is Teshiria Spelmon. I am a senior acting major at the University of Houston. I have participated in three plays at the school, including two in the 10-Minute Play Festival, She Dead Now, and an upcoming production titled Breaking of the Bands. My passion for theater and performance is profound, and I feel a strong connection to the stage. Additionally, I am a third-year residential advisor at the University Lofts. I cherish the opportunity to be a source of light and inspiration for my residents each day, just as they have positively impacted my life.

Hi Coogs! My name is Amiya Taylor, and I'm so excited to be running for Homecoming Queen. I'm a senior majoring in Public Health with a minor in Biology, and I'm proud to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, NPHC, and BSHA. When I'm not busy on campus, you can usually find me in the gym or getting creative with digital editing. After graduation, I plan to pursue my dream of becoming a Dermatology Physician Assistant and empowering people to feel confident in their own skin.
