Nick Massad Jr. ('73)

After graduation from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston in 1973, Nick Massad was assigned to a position as food & beverage director at an American Liberty owned Sheraton Hotel located in Dallas. He later served as general manager and vice president of several of the company's properties before becoming its first president in 1983. 

He and his wife, Vicki, purchased American Liberty Hospitality in 1991, and Nick has served as the company's chief executive officer since. Currently, the company owns and/or operates 14 hotels, inns and resorts located throughout Texas and Louisiana.

In 2007, the Massad Family gifted $1.5 million to enhance their alma mater's library and hospitality archives, the largest gift ever presented to the College from a source other than the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. The Massad Family Library Research Center and Hospitality Industry Archives opened in the spring of 2010.
