Gourmet Night

With the best interest of our students and guests in mind – and as we continue to see more news about the spread of COVID-19 – Gourmet Night 2020 scheduled for April 4 has been cancelled. For refunds, please contact Deepu Kurian at 713-743-2440 or dkurian3@uh.edu. If you prefer to donate the cost of your tickets to the students of Hilton College, we would be grateful. For gift credit, contact Miguel Cabrera at 713-743-1523 or mcabrera3@uh.edu. Thank you for your understanding and continued support during these uncertain times.

Since 1974, Gourmet Night has offered an unforgettable evening of exquisite dining—all student-planned and executed. It has become Hilton College's most treasured tradition and the stage on which we showcase student talent.

Over a one-year period, student leaders plan every detail of a gourmet dinner for 360 and lead a service team of 300 student volunteers, wowing guests with their skills in culinary arts, event planning, beverage management and service direction. From theme to budget, to menu and night-of logistics, students direct the entire production, which includes a cocktail reception, silent auction, multi-course dinner with wine pairings and live entertainment.

Each spring, undergraduate and graduate students interview with the Gourmet Night Executive Committee for the coveted spots on the student management team. The selected students then enroll in two semester-long classes in Gourmet Night Management (HRMA 3384/4384/6384), led by lecturer Reba Haskell, executive director of the event.

Every year, the students raise the bar, and the night becomes more sophisticated, more delicious and more dazzling. Proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction benefit the College's educational programs and scholarships.

The 48th Annual Gourmet Night will take place on April 10, 2021.
