Homecoming season is a thrilling time at the UH College of Education (UH COE) – when current students, faculty and staff join our alumni and friends to celebrate our Cougar Pride. Each day, during the week of November 7-11, COE gave students, faculty and staff a different way to be involved with the festivities. 

The main event of the week, the 6^th Annual COE Ice Cream Social, was held on Wednesday, November 9^th and was full of fun activities for all.  COE community members got the chance to network, and eat lots of ice cream! 

The highlight of the Ice Cream Social was the Lip Sync Battle.  Teams consisting of faculty, staff and UH Charter School children performed.  The UH Charter School children stole the show.  Please enjoy videos of the teams who participated:

The COE Spirit Award was given to the The Department of Curriculum & Instruction (CUIN) for the best decorated office suite for Homecoming week.  Araceli Venturini won the "Guess How Many" contest. 

COE would like to send special thanks to Redco Distribution who kindly donated material for our homecoming displays.  The COE Office of Undergraduate Studies is also grateful to the undergraduate students, especially those in the Teach Forward Houston program, who decorated the suite for homecoming.  

Exceptional Homecoming spirit was highly encouraged during the week and the College certainly delivered!

• Mum Day Monday, Coogs added to a huge mum outside Suite 160.
• Tailgate Tuesday, COE sold hotdogs, chips and drinks and collected canned goods.  $141 was raised and all proceeds will be donated to the Houston Food Bank to celebrate Cougar Care Day.
• Wiggin Out Wednesday, Coogs wore crazy wigs and enjoyed free ice cream and prizes all while watching the Lip Sync Battle.  Make sure you join us next year!
• Throwback Thursday, Coogs showed off their old school clothes.  There were some good ones!
• Facebook Friday, Coogs uploaded their favorite homecoming themed pictures to the College’s Facebook page. COE Undergraduate student Haley Demerchant was the winner!
• Sizzling Saturday’s Homecoming Football Game was amazing with the Coogs beating Tulane 30-18!!
