Bridget Portier has been honored as the Golden Paw Employee of the Month for October 2024. As the Associate Director of Conference and Reservation Services (CARS), events, and hospitality for the Student Centers, Bridget demonstrates exceptional leadership, commitment, and dedication to her role and team.
Bridget was nominated by Erin Woods, assistant director of marketing and Creation
Station at Student Centers, who highlighted Bridget’s exemplary contributions to the
university community. Erin shared, “Not only is Bridget amazing at her role, but she
goes above and beyond her duties as Associate Director. She has improved the CARS
office and hospitality practices of the Student Centers, leading to increased revenue
and happier customers. Her commitment to her team and others is truly inspiring.”

environment. She takes the initiative to serve on subcommittees and has delivered
impactful presentations in those spaces, all while managing her primary responsibilities
with excellence. Her compassion and poise have shone particularly in challenging situations.

(CAPS) office.
Beyond her operational expertise, Bridget’s open-door policy and mentorship have made
her a trusted colleague and invaluable resource for professional development. Erin
further remarked, “She has personally helped me grow in my career. Bridget’s door
is always open, and she extends a helping hand to anyone who seeks her guidance. She
is an amazing colleague and an asset to the University of Houston.”
The Golden Paw Award recognizes individuals who consistently go above and beyond,
and Bridget Portier exemplifies this standard in every way. Her transformative leadership,
