Effective Fall 2019, incoming undergraduate students will have the option to get a communication studies degree. This degree program features two concentrations: Film & Media Studies and Interpersonal Communication.

Film & Media Studies ConcentrationThe Film & Media Studies concentration teaches students to deal critically with media issues that create and affect public policy and will explore media management policy. Course materials cover content, technology, training, programming, marketing, and audiences in national and international contexts. Sudents study film and its impact on media and society. Interpersonal Communication ConcentrationWith the Interpersonal Communication concentration, students gain knowledge of the interplay between communication and relationships on both micro and societal levels. At the micro level, students develop analytic and communication skills needed to understand the process of relationship development, maintenance and deterioration. At the societal level, students acquire critical reasoning skills needed to interpret images and messages about families and other small groups. Learn more |
