Child Speech-Language Services

Speech/Language Evaluations 

Pediatric (child) communication skills are assessed by a diagnostic team of graduate student clinicians and professionals. Skills evaluated may include articulation (speech sounds), fluency (stuttering), voice, language skills, and social skills. 

Evaluations are administered in-person or via telepractice when appropriate. 

Speech/Language Treatment 

Therapy services for various communication disorders, namely articulation, fluency (stuttering), voice, language, social, and literacy, are provided in individual or group settings

Pre-school Language Learning Group (LLG) 

Intensive language stimulation is provided for children from two to four years of age. This group meets in-person two days a week for two and a half hours and has a maximum enrollment of six children. Therapy activities incorporate daily language-based activities, including singing, rhyming, reading, cooking, storytelling, circle time, dancing, coloring, dramatic play, and more. Parent education is provided through weekly updates and consultation with graduate clinicians and the speech-language pathologist.

Cougar Communication Pals (CCPals) 

CCPals offer speech and language therapy through telepractice for preschool and school-age children. Our program focuses on family-centered intervention, and parent/caregiver coaching is a critical component of this programParents are coached to facilitate communication through daily activities, such as mealtimes, literacy activities, and play activities.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) 

Evaluation and therapy services are provided to children with severe communication impairments who require basic and/or high-tech aided systems to communicate.  

Services are provided in-person or via telepractice.
