The Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life welcomes Guillermo Flores as the new Fraternity/Sorority Housing Coordinator
June 8, 2015 - The Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life would like to formally introduce their new Fraternity/Sorority Housing Coordinator to the team. Starting on June 22, 2015, Guillermo Flores will be taking the initiative to further the advancement of student learning through a meaningful chapter housing experience among fraternity and sorority members living at the University of Houston's fraternity/sorority housing facility, Bayou Oaks.
Originally from Chicago, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications specializing in Public Relations from Southern Illinois University. During his undergraduate career he became a brother of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, was involved with various aspects of Fraternity & Sorority Life including Inter-Greek Council and the Interfraternity Council. Through his undergraduate experience, he gained a successful head start that soon led him to recently graduate with a Masters of Arts from Ball State University where his assistantship was with Fraternity & Sorority Life.
At Ball State he was the Panhellenic Graduate Advisor, advised chapters from the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and served as the Chapter House Director for the Theta Chi Fraternity. He also worked as the graduate advisor for the Latino Student Union and Dance Marathon. His overachieving and go-getter personality made him the perfect candidate to join the Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life team this summer. As the new Fraternity/Sorority Housing Coordinator he will foster the development of community and a sense of belonging in Fraternity & Sorority Housing by working with townhouse managers, housing corporations, and other fraternity/sorority leaders, as well as serve on the front-line advising staff and work with program development within the Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life.
