Culture Connect Week is a weeklong celebration that connects and celebrates the various aspects of diversity and inclusion of our students, faculty, and staff. This exciting and educational week consists of multicultural performances, multicultural student organization collaborations and a dance social.

Equity Institute

April 7, 2023

An annual one-day conference for students, faculty, and staff, Equity Institute allows participants to engage in transformative sessions that enhance their cultural knowledge. Participants must register to attend.

Fall Speaker Series

Join us at our annual Fall Speaker Series as we invite nationally recognized speakers who are dedicated to providing insight and knowledge on various topics that align with social justice issues.

#IAmUH Campaign

The University of Houston personifies diversity. Coogs from different cultures and countries comprise the campus community making UH the second most diverse public research university in the country. Now, faculty, staff, students, and alums have an opportunity to celebrate their association with the University and share their stories through the #IAMUH Campaign. All Cougars are invited to share stories, strengths and personal attributes that connect them to UH. The challenge is to encapsulate these thoughts in either one word or 140 characters or less. These reflections can be shared through the #IAmUH form.

MLK Commemorative Celebrations

January 14 - January 27, 2023

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration is an opportunity for the University of Houston community to celebrate and reflect on the legacy and life of civil rights leader Dr. King. We gather during this time to memorialize the work and accomplishments of one of the most prominent African American leaders in modern history.

Weeks of Welcome Mixers

August 22 - September 1, 2022

Whether you're a new or returning Coog, the University of Houston wants to give you a warm welcome! During Weeks of Welcome, the Center for Diversity and Inclusion puts on free mixers for students to learn about our services, create relationships with one another, and find their community at the University of Houston!
