Services

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers a range of services to support the emotional well-being of University of Houston students. These services include an initial Access Visit to determine care needs, Essential Skills Workshops that build coping strategies, and Focused Care Hours for brief, solution-focused support. CAPS also provides Short-Term Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, and Short-Term Couples Counseling tailored to students’ unique needs. For ongoing support, Care Coordination helps connect students to additional campus and community resources. CAPS services are low-cost or free, and 24/7 crisis support is available for immediate mental health concerns.

Access visits are free, brief assessment sessions intended to make sure you get connected to the right service. Access visits can be in-person or virtual. To access CAPS services on a first come, first serve basis, visit
