Shima Oliaei Far

Shima Oliaei Far is an international doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Houston. Originally from Iran, she is passionate about providing culturally responsive and compassionate mental health care. Her clinical training includes working with individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, and PTSD, as well as administering cognitive assessments and clinical interviews. Her therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her interests include anxiety, depression, stress and adjustment, relationships, and identity development. She strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where students feel understood and supported.
