Traffic alerts & lot closures
Parking and mobility on and/or near campus will be affected during the following times:
Fall 2019 commencement ceremonies will be taking place Thursday, Dec. 12, through Saturday, Dec. 14. Thousands of visitors will be coming to campus during this time, which will impact campus parking lots, garages and streets.
Circulator Routes Temporarily Being Rerouted
The Circulator 1 and Circulator 2 shuttle routes are temporarily being rerouted because of roadwork near Cullen and N. MacGregor, but are still servicing all of their normal shuttle stops.
The faculty/staff/student entrance to Garage 5 from the Loop Road will be closed through the remainder of the fall semester to allow workers to complete construction work on the building while ensuring the safety of all those who utilize the garage. The entrance from Elgin remains open.
Entrance 14 Construction Traffic (ongoing)
There will be ongoing construction traffic along Entrance 14 as a result of a construction project at Science and Research 1. Sidewalks and some parking spaces will also be impacted.
The various driveway entrances from Cullen Boulevard into the Zone E parking lots (8A and 9C) will be closed periodically as work continues on the Cullen Boulevard road improvement project. When one entrance is closed, access will still be open on the others.
Garage 6 Construction Parking Impacts
Construction started this summer on Garage 6. All of Lots 20A and 20C are closed to facilitate the construction. The East Garage is only accessible from the Spur 5 access lanes. Traffic travelling south on I-45 should exit Cullen and follow the feeder road through the Elgin intersection.
