Dr. Obasi leads the overall operation of the COE Office of Research and is responsible for advancing the research culture in the College. Moreover, he serves as the catalyst for facilitating innovative research that supports the COE mission to lead and inspire generative transformations of learning, health, leadership, and well-being by developing new knowledge for an increasingly diverse world. Specifically, Dr. Obasi will develop and oversee (a) faculty research development initiatives, (b) COE small grants program, (c) research policies and procedures, (d) community partnerships, (e) pre- and post-award services, (f) compliance management, and (g) the dissemination of our scholarship to a broad range of stakeholders. Lori Armstrong is the authorized signing official on behalf of the University for pre-award research activities in the College of Education. She is a certified research administrator who serves as the liaison between COE and other colleges on campus, other universities and external funding agencies. Lori assists faculty in searching for research funding opportunities and coordinates the proposal development and submission process. She provides guidance to faculty and staff on “tools” (RAMP, RD2K, PIVOT, Cayuse, etc.) as well as interpretation and implementation of University and Federal policies and regulations. Lena Mitchell is responsible for the financial management of all funded research projects for the departments of Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Richard Adewola, Financial Assistant 2
Richard Adewola assists the post award research administration. He handles preparing financials and cost center reconciliations, tracking and uploading PI Acceptance forms for the financials. Richard also prepares vendor and consultant contracts and requisitions, contract vouchers for payments, payroll reallocations, summer research agreements, and non-payroll expense journals.
