An endowment is a sizable fund of money that the University invests to produce interest income. While the endowment’s principal remains untouched, the annual returns fund an array of campus-wide activities and programs, including distinguished chairs and professorships and student scholarships. An endowment allows your gift to make a difference every year and to grow over time.
Endowed scholarships help CLASS fulfill its mission of providing a world-class education to all qualified students, regardless of financial considerations.
You may support the education of one student by establishing a new, named scholarship endowment or establish a TierOne scholarships, a high-profile award program that attracts the best and brightest students. Other options include contributing to an existing endowment or making a non-endowed scholarship gift. The minimum gift amount to endow a scholarship is $25,000.
Endowed Chairs & Professorships
An endowed chair or professorship is an exceptional honor, bestowing upon a faculty member respect and recognition as well as additional research and teaching resources. As such, these endowments are an important tool for recruiting and retaining exceptional faculty.
Donors may establish and name a professorship or chair in CLASS or contribute to an existing chair or professorship. Professorships can be endowed for a minimum gift of $250,000 and chairs for a minimum of $1,000,000.
