Qingming Festival
  • Location: China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand
A traditional Chinese festival observed by the ethnic Chinese in several countries. Occurring on the 15th day after the Spring Equinox, the holiday recognizes the traditional respect of ancestors in Chinese culture. Activities include visiting ancestor's tombs, cleaning grave sites, praying to ancestors and making ritual offerings.

Eid al-Fitr
  • Location: Worldwide
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a month long Muslim observation that is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Special prayers and ceremonies occur followed by a feast featuring sweet foods and dishes.
ESL Conversation Circle

University Branch Book Club: Our Missing Hearts, by Celeste Ng

Items are priced 50 cents to $2, with special items slightly higher. Cash only, and no bills larger than $20. Proceeds fund programming for all ages at University Branch Library.
