Personal Statement

As a first-generation student, Danielle Puente dreamed of entering the medical  field by pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine. She was a member of the First Generation Coogs program and was the Pre-Veterinary Student Association during her undergrad years. She graduated from the University of Houston in May 2020 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Business Foundations. Danielle has been employed with the Graduate College of Social Work since 2015. She began her career as the assistant to the College’s Research Administrator for 4 years and was later promoted to Financial Coordinator 1 for the CWEP grant and has been with the project for a year now.
