Congratulations to 2025 UH Faculty Award Recipients

Dear UH Community,

It is that time of the year when we recognize our professors with the University’s Faculty Excellence Awards!

Last night, I had the privilege of presenting these honors to faculty who consistently demonstrate excellence in their teaching, research and service to the University. Among this year’s awardees is Dr. Elena Grigorenko, Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor of Psychology. She is the recipient of this year's Esther Farfel Award.

The Farfel Award is UH’s highest honor for faculty, and Dr. Grigorenko has indeed earned it through her longstanding dedication to our institution, her students and her research. She is a widely published scholar who has contributed significant research to child and adolescent learning and developmental disorders.

In addition to the Farfel Award, we honored the newest Moores Professors, as well as those faculty earning Teaching Excellence Awards. It was a memorable evening celebrating our exceptional faculty.

The celebration shouldn’t end with last night’s festivities. Extend congratulations to your colleagues and further acknowledge their achievements!

A complete list of awardees is on the Faculty Awards website and a feature on Dr. Grigorenko is now online.

I’d like to extend a special thanks to everyone who helped coordinate the awards ceremony, as well as those who nominated this year’s honorees. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who earned awards for their contributions to the University!

I look forward to next year’s event and continuing this longtime tradition of recognizing the University’s talented faculty!

Respectfully,
