The Art Guys to Open Time Capsule Hidden Inside University of Houston Sculpture for 16 Years

It’s been 16 years since Houston-based artistic team The Art Guys added “The Statue of Four Lies,” a public landmark, to the University of Houston campus. On Saturday, Sept. 26, Public Art of the University of Houston System (Public Art UHS) will reveal the time capsule hidden within the iconic sculpture to the community.

New $1 Million Hamill Foundation Gift Supports Community Care Nursing at the Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing

As the nation faces a shortage of nurses, the University of Houston Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing has received a $1 million gift from The Hamill Foundation to establish The Hamill Foundation Endowed Professorship in Community Care Nursing.

Falling into a New Academic Year

Dear Colleagues, Fall is in full swing, and I hope classes and other academic activities are going well! With the new academic year comes a University filled with students. Some are on scooters; others on skateboards; and many still navigate our campus the old-fashioned way—on foot. Among these Coogs are nearly 7,100 freshman (a record for UH!) and over 4,300 transfers.
