We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Dr. Arlene Macdonald. Arlene joined the Honors College in 2023 as an instructor and director of the Medicine & Society Minor. She brought new energy and a remarkable depth of compassion to the advancement of equity in healthcare. She will be missed deeply.
In her honor, The Arlene Macdonald Medicine & Society Scholarship has been established in honor of Dr. Arlene Macdonald, to support students in the Honors College Medicine & Society program at the University of Houston. This scholarship serves as a living tribute to her commitment to advancing equity in healthcare.
