Martin Cominsky and Sean Gorman, both Honors ­­­­alumni on the Honors College Advisory Board, sponsored the first Honors Arts Evening to see the Houston Grand Opera perform Intelligence at the Wortham Theatre. The HGO-commissioned world-premiere opera Intelligence is inspired by the little-known true story of two unlikely spies: Elizabeth Van Lew, from a prominent Confederate family and Mary Jane Bowser, born into slavery. 

Honors College Dean Appel accompanied the group of 14 students who signed up for free on a first-come, first -served basis for the show and dinner.
