Eric Frith is an instructional assistant professor in the Honors College. He received his doctorate in history from Columbia University in 2024, where he specialized in the political and economic thought of 18th- and 19th-century Latin America. He holds a master’s degree in history from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and a bachelor’s degree in history from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
Frith teaches the Human Situation course for freshmen, as well as upper-level courses in intellectual history, political economy and Latin American culture.
He previously taught history at the U.S. Air Force Academy and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and in Columbia University’s Core Curriculum. Before earning his doctorate, Frith served as a U.S. Air Force intelligence officer and as a Department of Defense civilian. His assignments included roles at U.S. Space Command, U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and the Defense Intelligence Agency.
