RESEARCH Mission

BOUNCE conducts rigorous, community-engaged research to reduce obesity and health disparities among Hispanic and African American children, parents and seniors. We examine how cultural, parental, psychological, and environmental factors influence eating behaviors and physical activity, and design evidence-based, family-centered interventions that integrate behavioral strategies, nutrition education, physical activity, and technology. Through innovative assessment methods and strong community partnerships, BOUNCE generates actionable insights and scalable solutions to improve health outcomes across diverse communities in the Houston region.
