CSE Field Day Returns: Bigger, Louder, and More Unforgettable Than Ever

By Dhivyadharshini Selvaraj

As the semester heats up and finals approach, students at the University of Houston are getting a well-deserved break — and what better way to recharge than at CSE Field Day? Hosted by the Center for Student Empowerment, this annual celebration returns on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Lynn Eusan Park, promising an afternoon packed with games, laughter, and Cougar pride.

From the moment students arrive, the park transforms into a fun festival. Music fills the air; groups of friends gather under the spring sun, and every corner is alive with excitement. For those who love friendly competition, classic field-day games like kickball and sumo wrestling are ready to bring out your competitive side, while the fan-favorite dunk tank adds a splash of humor and thrills. For students who prefer to relax, there are plenty of snacks, drinks, and spaces to enjoy the lively atmosphere and connect with peers.

CSE Field Day is more than just a game — it is a celebration of community. It gives students the chance to meet new people, make memories, and feel part of the vibrant UH family. As Dr. Raven Jones shares, “Field Day is a fun experience that gives students a chance to unwind during finals.” The event captures the perfect balance between work and play, reminding students that taking a moment to have fun is just as important as hitting the books. As Eric Callis, Program Coordinator, CSE, shares, “Finals are tough… but so are you. Come decompress, have fun, and finish the semester strong!”

The event also promotes campus-wide involvement, inviting departments, student organizations, and FSL chapters to sponsor games or host booths, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone can contribute to the experience. As Kathleen Guzman, Program Manager, CSE, adds, “Field Day celebrates resilience, connection, and the power of showing up.”

Whether you come to compete, cheer on friends, or enjoy the music and community vibes, CSE Field Day promises an afternoon full of energy, laughter, and Cougar spirit. It is the perfect way to recharge, celebrate the semester, and create memories that last long after finals.

So, grab your friends, mark your calendars, and head to Lynn Eusan Park — because CSE Field Day is back, and it is bigger, louder, and more unforgettable than ever!
