The University of Houston is set to celebrate the grand opening of the Cougar Parent & Family Engagement Center (CPFEC) on February 25, 2026, from 6:00 PM–7:30 PM, marking an exciting milestone in the university’s commitment to supporting families, student parents, and campus supporters.
Located at the heart of UH, the CPFEC is more than just a center—it is a welcoming hub designed to foster connection, provide resources, and empower families
to actively participate in the student experience. Whether seeking guidance, exploring campus opportunities, or building relationships,
families and supporters now have a dedicated space to engage with the university community
in meaningful ways.
The grand opening event will feature remarks from university leadership, a ribbon‑cutting ceremony, interactive activities, giveaways, and opportunities for campus partners to learn more about how the Center supports student success. Attendees will experience firsthand how CPFEC strengthens engagement, nurtures community, and champions the needs of student parents and families.
“Our goal is to create a space where every family member, supporter, and student parent feels connected, valued, and informed,” said Chelsea Blake, Associate Director of CPFEC. “The opening of CPFEC represents a new chapter in how we support the UH community. We are here to champion the experiences of families and student parents while building meaningful relationships that help our students flourish both in and out of the classroom.”
The CPFEC reflects UH’s holistic approach to student support, emphasizing collaboration, engagement, and care. By strengthening the bond between
students, families, and the university, the Center will play a pivotal role in helping
students navigate their academic and personal journeys with confidence and resilience.
“This is a space for connection, learning, and celebration,” Blake added. “We envision a thriving community where every family feels empowered to contribute to student success, and every student feels the support of those who care most about their journey.”As the university looks forward to the grand opening, the Cougar Parent & Family Engagement Center stands as a symbol of inclusion, support, and community, ready to serve as a cornerstone for generations of Cougars to come.
