Jowoon Kim

Joowon Kim co-founded a company that brought the world’s first library of stress self-management module through virtual reality within the healthcare sector. Bringing it to market in the span of a year and 7 months, receiving various awards including winning a grand prize at Astellas C3Prize at Stanford MedX conference. Followed with a successful exit from the company, she wanted to make an impact in the Houston youth.
She then founded an edtech company called LevelUp Camp, which is an innovation camp for teens learning about VR, AR, Web and App development with entrepreneurial spirit through a hands-on, project-based learning with the STEAM-based curriculum.
She is currently involved in VR in healthcare, consulting for various companies through Amodo Technologies LLC based in Houston, TX.
She is also a part of biodesign fellowship at Texas Medical Center. As a digital health team, the fellows are looking for ways to improve healthcare through technology. A current focus is to improve the effectiveness of immunotherapy drugs using AI|ML analytics via human microbiome as a biomarker.
