2025 ushers new seating setup at Cullen Hall

Cullen Performance Hall Seating MapCullen Performance Hall has raised the curtain on a new seating chart for 2025. This is in response to visitors who had become confused in finding their seats in the orchestra and balcony areas when they attended a performance or event.

To alleviate this issue, the vertical section designations of left, left center, right center, and right will no longer be in use and the seating numbers will run across the whole width of the rows.

“Simplicity is sometimes the best remedy,” said Brandon Ferkel, theater director, Cullen Performance Hall. “Guests will be guided at the entrances to the correct section of the rows by the numbers they contain.”

Ferkel found what was confusing attendees was the alphanumeric system used to organize the orchestra and balcony seating along with the four vertical sections.

“For example, a ticketholder whose seat was Orchestra Left A1 would end up going to Orchestra Left Center A1, Orchestra Right Center A1, or Orchestra Right A1,” Ferkel said. “We realized a change was in order. There are now three location identifiers in use: orchestra pit, orchestra, and balcony. We have been using them in our 2025 marketing.”

The orchestra pit area will remain the same since it’s straightforward, with the four rows labeled AAA-DDD followed by the seats numbered consecutively starting with one to the end of the row.

“We want our guests to enjoy the excitement generated by a performance or event and the 1950s charm of our facility, and not to become stressed about where they’re going to sit,” Ferkel said.
