Standards for Instructional Web Pages
The following are standards for Web Developers of Instructional Web Pages for Faculty Members.
Instructional Web UseThe World Wide Web can be an exciting instructional resource, and the UH central web server is available for use in the development of supplementary course materials for any UH course. Faculty members teaching a class in a given semester may publish course materials through either their individual accounts or through their departmental account. Faculty members who want their courses to be accessible through the main University home page should send electronic mail to www@uh.edu.
Need to Know
Note: These standards apply only to web pages mounted on the UH Central Server. They are intended as guidelines to promote appropriate instructional uses and content -- not to stifle individual creativity or to interfere with academic freedom.
Colleges, departments, and organizations may also maintain their own servers for home pages that may be used for instructional purposes by faculty, staff, or students. In those cases these standards will not apply, although we encourage their use and adaptation. For additional information, see also Standards for Administrative Web Pages
