Standards for Individual Web Pages
Individual sites are subject to some of the same guidelines as administrative sites. Particular amongst these are the policies for copyrights and commercial use.
FacultyIndividual faculty members may develop their own web sites.
Faculty that want their home pages to be listed in a directory of public University home pages should create a directory called "public_html" and place all web-related files in that directory. They also need to name their home page "index.html" which will allow an automated script to collect the file for listing on the directory pages.
Please note that only web pages on the UH Central Server will appear in the directory.
Faculty members may also create Web pages for use as instructional resources. Please see Standards for Instructional Accounts.
Staff

Need to Know
Note: These standards apply only to web pages mounted on the UH Central Server. They are intended as guidelines that will promote uniformity of presentation and accuracy of content -- not to stifle individual creativity. The advantage of these guidelines will be to facilitate access to information.
Colleges, departments, and organizations may also maintain their own servers for web pages. In those cases these standards will not apply, although we encourage their use and adoptation. For additional information see also Standards for Administrative Web Pages and Standards for Instructional Web Pages.
