The Student Advisory Board consists of AAS Ambassadors (majors only) and AAS minors. These students plan AAS Week and advise the Department Chair on recruitment, program planning and other matters related to the student experience at the University of Houston. They are also given priority to represent the department at events, including those with donors, alumni, and national conferences.
How to apply
To serve on the Student Advisory Board, majors and minors must meet the qualifications above. In addition, applicants must complete the application, including write a 150-word letter of application describing why the applicant is an AAS major or minor and why you interested in serving. Based on a review of materials, an interview will be scheduled with the AAS Chair and current members of the board. Contact the department chair at aas@uh.edu if you have questions.
